About

Hallie's Angels are made up of a group of close friends who have all previously taken part in the Scarborough dragon boat festival for several years. The main priority for this team is to have a great day but we also make sure we raise a huge chunk of money for the charities we choose to paddle for.

This year Hallie's Angels will be rowing for the Children's Heart Surgery Fund which is a charity very close to home for two of the rowers and their family. Jen and Rachel had a little girl in September 2021 and at 3 weeks old she was diagnosed with two holes in her heart, one very large, and a smaller one. Unfortunately, these holes were not going to close up by themselves so open-heart surgery was required so Hallie's heart could start to function the way it should.

Surgery was scheduled for early December 2021 but was cancelled twice so Jen, Rach and Hallie had to stay in Leeds a lot longer than expected.

The Children's Heart Surgery Fund are a charity that provide accommodation for the parents of children who are having heart surgery. They also provide food vouchers, care packages, and presents for the children, as well as keeping them entertained in the hospital wards. Without their help the whole situation would have been a lot more difficult, and Jen and Rach are forever grateful for their help.

Hallie is now a very active 2-year-old, completely 'fixed' and healthy. Hallie's Angels are going to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity... please give generously!!

Also, a huge thank you to The Angel Inn, Scarborough for sponsoring their boat.
